Cupcake Wedding

Now, look close cuz I only made the cupcakes!
The cake was made at a bakery in California.
I got a special invite to come to fly to my brothers son's wedding
and bake and decorate 160 cupcakes to match the cake.
SO SO MUCH FUN TO SPEND TIME WITH THE FAMILY
& GET TO CREATE AT THE SAME TIME!!
Thanks Bob and Carol for this chance!
Jefferey & Brooklyn you are wonderful!
I think I matched the cake pretty close. I made the flowers in Colorado
and carried them Very Carefully on the plane!

Slot Machine Cake!

BILL & LINDA
(Happy Birthday to you BOTH)
JACKPOT!!

Crazy friends & Crazy Cake!

This cake was made with 3 12x18 and 3 8x12 sheet cakes. They were baked and stacked and sculpted to make the shape of a slot machine. A box lid was covered with black fondant to make the coin tray. Little LED lights were positioned to show that, yes, Bill you hit the Jackpot! All extra pieces were created from fondant and let harden. The handle was covered tinker toys (thanks to my neighbor, JAX for that idea)

I also made a dozen jumbo cupcakes with POKER CHIPS on top to decorate around the cake!

Thanks guys, you are the best!

Little Cakes

These are just a few little personal cakes I did. The football cakes (Raiders for Rachel and Forays for a fantasy football winning team)were baked in a William Sanoma pan. Very top heavy once it was iced. I used fondant, it is possible that the cake should not have the weight of fondant on it.
Oh well 'live and learn'
The two little cakes were made for my two students in my Primary class! They started 1st Grade so I thought it fun to create 4" cakes to celebrate! I love my kids!
The flower basket is a 6" cake, covered with flowers For Tonya!

tiny Wedding cake

This cake was for Jeremy Schoonmaker and his bride.
White cake with raspberry filling, and butter cream icing.
This was my first attempt at this type of flower.
Ribbon and pearls used for added accents!

Thanks Schoonmakers! Love you guys!

Fondant Girlie Cake

Happy Birthday Taryn!!!!

18 WOW!!!

Another Fun cake!

I am excited that the fondant I am using tastes so much better than other types I have tried!

I also am excited that this cake has a pearl shimmer over it that I know will be used more and more.

This is a three tier...6, 8, and 10, inch cake

all white cake with 3 different fillings, cherry, rasp, and strawberry!

The top is made with a chunk of strofoam secured to the cake. I used small craft mirrors to add a fun look to the cake.

Basball Cake CO Rockies!

Happy 25th birthday Jacob!

We had our family together for our son's birthday. Jacob hasn't celebrated his birthday at home in 7 years!

Sweet Cassie made this trip home a fun surprise for him. We had an amazing week!

I will add photos from the week soon....
Here are a few ....

**Notes may be boring for non-cake bakers**

This cake was created in four parts:
First, THE GLOVE: two quarter sheet cakes (chocolate)stacked, the top layer was cut in half length wise and only one half placed on top of the bottom layer. The hole for the glove was scooped out cake. Then all was crumb iced and refrigerated. Then I covered the entire cake with fondant that I colored (glove orange?)
I then took my wonderful air gun and sprayed it with darker shades and laid the web of the glove over the top. I placed pieces of fondant to look like the glove was laced.
Second, THE BALL: this was a styrofoam ball that I covered with fondant and painted stitches with deep red food color, paste the ball was then CRAMMED in the spot where the cake was scooped away.
Third, THE CAP: this is a chocolate cake that I baked in a small bowl about the size of a cap and then it was covered with white fondant and sprayed Rockies purple. The CR was made out of gum paste and "glued" to the cap once it was on top of the glove. The brim of the cap was a piece of cardboard covered with black fondant.
Forth, THE PENNANT: made with gum paste and set to dry with tissue underneath parts to look as if it were waving. I hand painted the stripes and words on it.

I set the entire cake on a board and piped grass (buttercream icing) as my border.

This was for my son who is 25 and a CRAZY ROCKIES BASEBALL FAN!

He loved it and didn't want to cut into it!

Topsy Turvey Cake, Sweet16!

This was one of the funnest cakes I have done in quite some time!
I have always wanted a reason to do one of this 'topsy turvy cakes'
but never had one.

I learned alot with this one!.

Three tiers, each three layers of chocolate cake with choc/rasp mousse covered with buttercream and then with fondant! Thanks guys for letting me be part of Sams special day in this way! It means alot to me! Oh, and I must say that Sam is the first one that I have had cry when I delivered her cake! The photo sent to me with Sam behind her cake is a better showing of the actual shades of pink that I used!

You girls are growning up WAY TOO FAST!!!
Happy 16th Birthday Sam!

Hawiian Sheet Cake

Patrick & Katie Penland....What a WONDERFUL couple!

They had a day time backyard BBQ after all the wedding and reception out of town was over!
It was a beautiful day! Anne and Greg you did a GREAT JOB!
This was a sheet cake, one half chocolate and the other strawberry! Iced with butter cream.
I used a slencil and air brushed the flowers then hand painted the stamin in each flower.

Thanks so much for letting me share in your day!
