Lucy is our office manager during the week.....

.....and a Harley Rider on the weekends!

(ok, so she doesn't ride anymore, but she still loves a pretty bike)

Another fun new decorating design for me!
Cake: Red Velvet
Icing: Whipped Cream and "Chocolate Strings"
The pieces were made with Color Flow
and set on top of sugar cubes to show dimension

COWGIRL AMY
~BIRTHDAY CAKE~
This one, once again, was created for a sweet friend at the office!
she is a Beautiful girl who is a country girl deep down!
Her cake was made as a white cake, with raspberry filling, and again whipped cream icing!
The Whipped cream icing is beginning to be what EVERYONE wants!
The flowers were made with butter cream icing and aloud to harden for a few days. the rope and the hats are gum paste.
I must say that I am going to miss Amy, she is leaving our office, and moving to Denver!

Kamee's Birthday Cake
This girl quotes lines from movies ALL THE TIME!
So.....
What better than a movie cake! The girl, the bubble and the film strips are made of gum paste and sprayed or painted with color. the cake is white cake and whipped cream icing.
Thanks to all the girls at work that let me learn new techniques on them!
The girl was made in layers, similar to paper dolls. That was a lot of fun to try! I will definitely do this type of thing again!

This is a three tier Wedding cake. Thanks Larissa for sending the photo to add to here!
Very simple look, but pretty difficult for me!
This is rolled butter cream. Softer and shinier than fondant, also tases a whole lot better!
The pearls around the cake are plastic. I had lights under the clear cake plate and she used lavendar rose petels and small white daisies, so sweet! (Literally!! HeHe!)
I also made sheet cakes, iced with whipped cream, with each piece having a lavendar rosebud yummy, for them to cut and set out throughout the evening and prior to
"The Cutting of The Cake"
Thank you McHardy Family for giving me the honor of making your daughter's wedding cake!
ROYAL ICING SNOWFLAKES
These cakes were fun to do! It is always funnest for me when I am baking for dear friends and family! This young lady got married back east, but had an open house in Colorado Springs. It was December so I decided I would, once again, try something I hadn't ever done.
I made these snowflakes about a week before sprinkled them with edible glitter and let them harden! The cakes were done with Whipped cream icing sprayed blue.
Love you guys Rhenda! Thanks for trusting me with your daughter's day!

My daughter's wedding.....

Well, big lesson learned, don't learn on your own daughter's wedding cake! I am so so so grateful they loved it even though I made some big errors! this was my first 5 tier cake. Needless to say that I didn't know I needed larger (stronger) dowels for the lower tiers that are holding up the rest of the cake!
Thank you Bec and Shawn for being so wonderful as I continue to learn! I love you both!
The cake was yummy. Two tiers were white cake with raspberry whipped cream filling, and the other three were chocolate cake with double chocolate mousse filling! The icing is the best tasting fondant I have ever worked with! Vanilla, white fondant.

FAIRY CAKE

This is a tiny 6" birthday cake. Made for a friend to surprise his wife.
This cake is a white cake with yummy fresh strawberry whipped cream filling!
Iced with buttercream and covered with marshmellow fondant.
If you are wanting the fondant look, and a better taste than fondant,
marsmellow fondant is the way to go!
My fairy is made with regular fondant. Doll hair and a few little gems were the only non-edible parts! She is an edible fairy!
She was fun to do....but my husband commented that there was as much mess as there usually is while making a three tier wedding cake! He is right!

Elmo Birthday Cakes!!!

Grandma and grandpa ordered this cake for their little Becca!

This is a two layer 10" white cake with strawberry filling! A 6" round chocolate placed on top for the birthday girl!
The BIG ELMO was created with rice crispy treats, then covered with fondant. The smaller Elmos, 2's and hearts are all color flow. Made way in advance...many broke prior to assembling! note to self....always make more than needed!
Happy Birthday little Becca, thanks Martha for the order!

BELOW YOU WILL FIND MY 2nd ELMO CAKE!

This one is similar, but has ELMO breaking through the top of the six inch! I just scooped out cake and layed silver sprayed fondant pieces in a circle setting Elmo in the center.

Weight Lifter's cake

This was a fun creation!

Three layers of yummy cake iced with butter cream and covered with black fondant.
Note to self.....black fondant made very dark black.....TURNS PURPLE!!
Needless to say, I removed the fondant and started over!

This is my first cake done with Rolled Butter cream. The bride
(a friend I work with) doesn't like the taste of fondant but wanted me to get her the look of it!
Well let me tell you..... that is about the hardest stuff I have ever worked with!
I loved the outcome of this one. It has definitely jump started my enthusiasm to work hard and create lots more.
The wedding was all lime green and black! I was very nervous about the color I had chosen for the icing but that went away the second i took the cake in to set it up. The wedding was beautiful!
Kamee you were a beautiful bride!

COWS!
This cake is a surprise for a lady that Becca works with!
She collects cows and it's her birthday! Gave me a reason to try something new!
This is Fondant, very fun to work with, but you need to work fast, as it dries out quickly.
We decided that the cake needed to be yelow with chocolate marbled through....cowlike...
Took me about 5 hours to decorate this one, but I really enjoyed it!

Father's Day

Fun cake done for our buddy who loves his ATV!
All decoration was air brushed

This was a Father's Day cake made for the husband of a friend of mine.
He is a Fence builder by trade.
Thanks Becca for creating the dad for this cake!
This was made with Whipped Cream icing.
The fence, sign , dad, and the tree are all made with gum paste.

High School Graduation Party!
She is going to Hawaii to school so they had a Luau.
This cake was done in butter cream and decorations are stenciled and air brushed.
This is a fun technique but can only be done on butter cream icing.

Jacob & Cassie
Colorado Reception
A dear friend helped me with this cake!

JAMIE'S Wedding cake!

All butter cream, three tier, square cake. Flowers are royal icing and gum paste.

I need to ask them for an actual photo when cake was completed. They placed a beautiful blown glass Denver temple on top!

Beach Party!
Our friends daughter is 16. The next few pics are from her party

Whipped Cream Icing...yum!
This is a 6" cake just for the birthday girl

Our friend's daughter turned 16
Happy Birthday Brooke!

This is actually my first cake done with fondant! WOW it is really fun to work with!
A little cake for the family to test at Easter time!
